Established in 2005, Ecospray operates worldwide offering unique solutions applied in cooling down hot gases and in the removal of regulated pollutants from the exhaust gases of power stations, marine engines, cement and steel plants, chemical plants/refineries and waste incineration.

Even more than third party system and product certification, Ecospray is certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 - DNV GL.

Ecospray’s systems for cleaning and cooling air and gas address the following application areas:


The solutions offered by Ecospray include the following: 
  • High efficiency, low operating cost DeNOx systems, called ECO-NOx
    • SCR - Selective Catalytic Reduction systems - SCR performance > 98% with injection of urea or ammonia. A CO reduction catalyst (CatOx) may also be included. 
    • SCR systems that employ catalyzed ceramic filter elements, combining high removal efficiencies for both NOx and PM/dust.
    • SNCR – Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction systems - SNCR with the injection of urea or NH3 directly in the gas stream at high temperature. 
  • DeSOx, HCl and ACID GAS REMOVAL SYSTEMS – Highly advanced acid gas treatment systems, called ECO-SOx, employing reactors of proprietary design with:
    • Wet scrubbing technology - Injecting fresh water plus a reactant or sea water (the latter specific to marine industry application)
    • Dry scrubbing technology - Injecting lime or sodium bi-carbonate powder in an appropriate reactor/bag filter
    • Semi-dry scrubbing technology - With the injection of lime-milk or limestone granules plus a water spray
  • GAS COOLING – Evaporative gas cooling systems, called ECO-COOLING, employing the controlled injection of ultrafine atomized water sprays using Ecospray’s proprietary lances and nozzles.
  • FOGGING - Adiabatic cooling of the air intake into gas turbines, called ECO-FOGGING. Ecospray’s systems have demonstrated significant increases in power output.
  • PARTICULATE and SOOT REMOVAL - Dust removal systems including bag filters, high-temperature ceramic filter elements, dry catalytic filters and wet scrubbers with variable geometries. Ecospray also offers catalytic oxidative systems for the removal of unburned hydrocarbons from the exhaust gases of marine diesel engines and static generators.
  • GAS CLEANING – Dioxin abatement systems, VOC and odor removal technologies using activated carbon filters (with and without in situ regeneration), wet scrubbers plus additives (peroxide, soda, etc.) or catalytic reactors.
  • BIOGAS TREATMENT AND UPGRADING - Systems for the biogas upgrading ( H2S and CO2 removal ), including DeNOx removal when used for power generation.

Research and innovation are at the core of Ecospray’s business philosophy. Due to the extensive experience and commitment of our team, as well as our continual investment in R&D, Ecospray is positioned as a technology leader in all of our application fields.

As a result, we are able to offer optimum solutions to our clients for air/gas cleaning and/or cooling in diverse industrial processes. Our achievements in R&D have enabled Ecospray to register numerous international patents for technologies and many of them have already received confirmation of their novelty in our served and value markets.

Ecospray employs advanced proprietary software for the design, implementation and performance verification of our systems, in conjunction with simulations that replicate the operating conditions of various applications in our laboratory.

We extensively use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to study the most critical factors influencing the actions of laminar or turbulent fluids encountered in plant processes. Our models, implemented with a.m. software, make it possible to simulate gas/ liquids flows, heat exchanges, spray evaporation in gas streams, combustion and other chemical processes such as the reduction of NOx by means of urea or NH3 and many others. Calculations are made to verify and optimize the performance of all Ecospray systems, and upon specific request from our clients, to avoid any potential issues in their unique process environments.

Ecospray’s Spray Lab is used for the study and testing of droplet dimensions generated by our spray nozzles. The Spray Lab allows us to measure in detail the quality of the spray in terms of droplet size, velocity and distribution. The parameters of flow and pressure are also measured and tightly controlled for both our single and dual fluid nozzles.

The Spray Lab allows us to optimize our nozzles for each individual project in order to maximize the performance of our spray systems.


Ecospray has been involved in many national and international R&D and innovation projects including:

  • The sustainable mobility project “NEW GENERATION MARINE SYSTEMS” - INDUSTRY 2015 – One of the industrial innovation projects co-financed by the Italian Economic Ministry for Development.
  • The energy and environment innovation project “IN SITU REGENERATION OF ACTIVE CARBON FILTERS” co-financed by the Lombardy Region of Italy and Unioncamere.

Ecospray is particularly committed to the care and support of the environment and is constantly working on new ways to reduce the environmental impacts of emissions and discharges from industrial applications. EGCSA – EXHAUST GAS CLEANING SYSTEMS ASSOCIATION

Ecospray Technologies has joined the EGCSA that represents the international Marine Exhaust Gas Cleaning Technologies. The EGCSA was established to help create a sustainable operating environment within the marine and energy industry sectors for exhaust gas cleaning system technologies. EGCSA provides impartial technical information, advice and opinion on the many current and future issues and challenges related to emissions reduction and marine exhaust gas cleaning systems.

CIB - CONSORZIO ITALIANO BIOGAS

Since 2016 Ecospray has joined the CIB the Italian Consortium Biogas. CIB represents the Italian sector of biogas and biomethane production in agriculture. One of the main purposes is to promote the development of biogas and biomethane and to encourage the use of energy from renewable sources.

THE GREEN ECONOMY NETWORK

In 2011, Ecospray joined the Assolombarda Green Economy Network, an initiative dedicated to fostering new alliances and promoting synergies between companies that offer products, services and technologies for sustainable and environmental friendly economic growth.
