This system, developed and patented by Ecospray, uses the tertiary hot air for the external gasification of the urea without additional energy costs. 
The gasified urea is injected into the pre-calciner. The system’s catalytic conversion reactor also significantly improves the conversion efficiency, differently from the cement production systems, where NOx removal is achieved via the direct injection of urea into the pre-calciner.
Ecospray’s unique system reduces the consumption of urea required to less than half that required for the same NOx removal efficiency, with consequent energy saving.
Because the urea is not evaporated in the pre-calciner, the heat loss associated with the evaporation of the water contained in the solution is eliminated.
Furthermore, the heat contained in the tertiary air, which is often not fully exploited in the production process, is able to be productively utilized.
